BaZi Classics in English命理古籍 · 英文对照译本

The English BaZi market has calculators in abundance and source texts almost nowhere. This is the source-text layer: each treatise given in its original Chinese, translated passage by passage, with the terminology fixed in advance and the interpretation separated from the text. Every page states exactly which chapter it covers and whether that chapter is complete.

Editorial rule. Nothing on these pages is called a “complete translation” unless every passage of the source chapter appears. Where a chapter is partial, the page says so in the source box. The Chinese text is public domain (Wikisource); the translations and commentary are original.

Why source texts

Three things a calculator cannot give you, and a concept summary will not either: the exact wording a rule was stated in, the conditions attached to it, and the cases the original author used to test it. The Yuan Hai Zi Ping chapters published here are the working foundation of the whole 子平 system — they are read first because every later text assumes them. Translations are arranged by learning path rather than by volume order.

The Chinese corpus

The underlying Chinese texts — 14 works, 230 chapters — are published separately and can be read alongside any translation here: 命理古籍专题. Each English page links back to the exact source file it was translated from.
